Podcast Interview with Net Feasa COO, Ruth Concannon, on the ‘In Business’ Show with Amber Galwey on Radio Kerry
Net Feasa Chief Operating Officer, Ruth Concannon, sat down for a chat with Amber Galwey on the ‘In Business’ show last week on Radio Kerry. They shared an interesting conversation talking about how the latest in AI technology, Agentic AI, is changing the face of container logistics and what it means for players in the supply chain industry.
Here’s a quick recap of the conversation and why it matters:
When you look at the journey that any goods take today across the globe; furniture, food, medicine, the unifying factor amongst them is the container. That container leaves the yard, for example, in the Middle East, and makes its way to the United States or Europe. How you know where that container is at all stages of its journey, where it will be and how it will get there, is all managed today by separate silos of information or data. Tracking the container as it moves across modes of transport from ships to trucks to rail, whether it’s with a major shipping company or a feeder shipping line, is all done by separate companies.
Our device when placed on the container becomes the single source of information on where that container is. I know that Container A, B, C will be at Port D, E, F on this day at this time. It will go to a yard and be emptied, therefore it will be available to fill again and send off on the next ship from that port. A slot can be booked without bringing the container back to a central yard or hub. Our Agentic Control Tower™ platform is taking the digitisation of the industry a step further. Applying the capabilities of AI to leverage and use data in a more effective manner, reduces container downtime and carbon emissions generated for positive impacts for both the business and the environment.
AI is about being able to filter through data and generate responses, based on the information available to the system. Agentic AI is about the system itself applying logic to the information at its disposal. It becomes an agent that can apply processes to the data. For example, an AI system can receive an email, process its contents and generate a response. Agentic AI can receive an email and make a decision based on its content. Knowing in advance that an empty container is going to become available in a specific yard, allowing the platform to dynamically offer that space on the next shipment out, that is the power behind Agentic Control Tower™; reducing the time for getting the goods from A to B.
We loved sharing our story with Amber about how Agentic AI is ushering in a new era for supply chain logistics. ‘In Business’ with Amber Galwey airs every Thursday at 6pm (GMT+1).
